I NEVER PROMISED YOU A ROSE GARDEN
By Alice White
In 1980, they were both high flyers. Stephanie and Paul worked for a booming nightclub. That was where they met.
“What a beautiful little house! We should buy it.” Paul proposed.
“Our house.” Stephanie smiled. “I want to live here forever.”
As the years passed, they decorated the little house and planted roses out front.
The nightclub went bankrupt and hard times fell upon the couple. They lost the little house, which fell into disrepair.
On the streets of the city, they died.
It is said that the couple still occupy the little house behind the roses and boarded-up windowsโฆ
unfortunately, i’m sure this was a true story for a lot of people over the past stretch of time. well done.

Well, at least they stuck it out together–until death do us part, etc. The roses still remain to remind us of a love that never died. How sweet.
